An experience very different to the economy flights that the majority ‘endure’.
Economy is somewhat nastily called ‘cattle class’. A term for the experience of getting to the airport hours before your plane leaves, queuing at security and having to often suffer the indignity of taking your shoes and belt off! Then there is the experience of turning right at the top of the stairs, maybe getting a tantalising glimpse of the luxury behind the curtain if you had turned left.
Add food that tastes like tough plastic, screaming babies, overly chatty people, cramped seating and possibly some annoying person’s badly stashed hand luggage hitting you in the head, and you have the experience of flying ‘economy’. However, it’s not all that bad – usually the fact that you are travelling somewhere new and exciting, or off to see loved ones can make up for this decidedly uncomfortable experience!
There is an entirely different way to travel – by buying or chartering your own luxury plane. If you’re looking at buying, you’ll need, errrr…..hundreds of millions of dollars. Which is just not a problem, especially for people like Donald Trump and Oprah Winfrey.
You’ll stretch out in an environment that looks much like a luxury home or boardroom – beds, kitchens, fully equipped bathrooms. In gorgeous, tasteful décor styles. You’ll eat gourmet food, prepared by a magnificently talented chef. You’ll join Hollywood A listers, game-changing businesspeople and other famous faces. The customised interior will have business facilities par excellence, or maybe a more relaxed, entertainment-focused layout.
All this combined with an aviatory exterior of technical mastery, that’ll get you anywhere you want to go and FAST! Sounds a lot better huh? Thought so! Maybe you feel like getting your hands on one of these?
Embraer Legacy 500
This is a mid-sized jet, made by the Brazilian manufacturer Embraer. It only carries 8 – 12 passengers, so nice and exclusive then. Jackie Chan has one, he loves it! This airplane ticks every box – comfort, performance, futuristic technology and safety. As well as nice, long non-stop flights. The spacious, minimalist interior has 12 seats that can swivel in all directions, recline, have heating and massage options, as well as leg rests. There are two divans as well, for when you just have to stretch out a little more.
Fancy flying 6000 miles without refueling? Fancy flying at the speed of light? That’s 0.925 Mach, for those who haven’t travelled that fast before! Then you’ll LOVE the Gulfstream G500. Beautifully spacious and customised interiors, with upholstery and padding tailored for the individual physique. Super fast internet in the air – fast enough for streaming. And no more of that airplane flu! The ventilation allows for a cabin full of fresh air within 2 minutes. Your carefully created individual seating turns into a bed at snooze time. And the bathrooms are not those tacky plastic affairs, no sireee! Marble tops and a toilet that completely disappears! Nice!
Bombardier Global 7000
This huge business jet gives you total freedom to move about as if you were in your own home! There are four, totally customisable full suites or ‘living spaces’, and a full kitchen! Making sure there are enough minions to look after passengers is key, so this baby has a huge crew suite. Imagine sitting down at a dining room table to enjoy a gourmet meal while flying across oceans!
Wohaaaaaa! Now THIS is amazing! The spacious airbus features tall, wide cabins and a low cabin altitude, so you arrive at your destination truly refreshed, no jet lag for you! There is reduced cabin noise so you feel peaceful and calm. On top of that, you know you are doing your bit for the environment – the superb aerodynamics mean the airbus can significantly reduce fuel consumption, which lowers all of our stress levels!
And then – the interior! It’s something really special, developed in true Italian style by Atelier Pagani Automobili. The leather carpets and wooden floors are beautiful. Shell shaped walls create divisions, that can go from transparent to opaque and vice versa with the push of a button! For a favorite feature? It has to be the sky ceiling, with a live view of the sky above you. AWESOME!
The airbus will keep 8 passengers in the air for up to 15 hours!
Boeing 787-8 BBJ
Would you like to fly around the air in a luxury home? Yes, a home you enter through a foyer, naturally! This truly is a sky-mansion! At 2400 square feet, you can easily fly 40 passengers in absolute luxury. And very few pesky stopovers, no matter where you want to go. The Boeing has a range of 9800 (or around 17 hours) miles when fully occupied.
Features include giant bedroom suites with walk in closets, and his and hers sinks in the bathroom. Don’t get cold padding around – just activate the heated marble floors! Come together to watch movies in the massive lounge with full entertainment facilities. You won’t even know you’re in the air!
If you can dream it, you can live it! Happy flying!
